The 2012 Kia Sportage Named “Best Value” by USAA

Sportage chosen in “Small SUV” category for the second straight year

The 2012 Kia Sportage was awarded “Best Value” for the second year in a row by the United Services Automobile Association (USAA), and it’s no wonder. The USAA indentified the top 2012 automobiles in 16 categories that offer buyers the most bang for their buck. The economical Kia Sportage was acknowledged for its competitive price and low insurance costs, and also for its selection as a “Top Safety Pick” for 2012 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
 
"The goal of the list is to help members identify vehicles that typically offer better safety ratings, lower insurance premium costs, higher fuel economy, better overall reliability and lower MSRP compared to other vehicles in the same category," stated Steve Thompson, an assistant vice president at USAA.  "The Kia Sportage rose to the top as a vehicle that offers these key elements, making it a great buy for the value-minded consumer."
 
USAA ”Best Value” vehicles offer the best financial value of all evaluated vehicles as part of a larger system called USAA Preferred. This system uses quantitative data to evaluate vehicle cost, reliability and safety, in addition to other key factors. Nearly 80 cars, minivans and trucks are currently named USAA Preferred vehicles; the ”Best Value” list features the highest scoring vehicles in each category.
