2013 Kia Cee'd (Forte) Hatchback Images Leaked

A new Kia cee’d (essentially the equivalent of the Kia Forte in the United States) is set to debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, but Kia UK has already released images of the new cee'd five-door hatchback.

Spotted on Kia World, the images show a tasteful update of the existing car’s styling, with cues borrowed from the new Kia Optima and even the revised Kia  Rio. The wing-shaped grille is more rounded than in the Optima, but the sculpted hood and upswept lower front valence are common traits.

The new hatchback isn’t quite as radically styled as the sketches of the upcoming sedan  we previously showed you, but the production version of the sedan isn’t likely to match the sketches. If the hatchback is any indication, expect the sedan to carry both a higher beltline and a bigger greenhouse (also called “Daylight Opening,” in car-speak).

Kia World is reporting that the new cee'd hatchback will be “marketed exclusively in Europe,” but it’s likely we’ll get a version in the U.S. to replace the aging Forte five-door currently on the market. Kia isn’t saying much, and so far has announced plans for a new Forte sedan only.
